Hard bags tend to be gray or black on the outside while the soft ones come in many different colors. Besides a durable outer shell, the handles are padded or reinforced. Some bags feature external pockets, and some feature luggage or in-line skate wheels. The top of them are padded on the inside.
The Ogio Silencer is available in three stylish color choices, each of which boasts a rugged nylon construction that enhances its durability. It features a convenient cart strap channel and a fleece-lined pocket for valuables.
Honestly, this is the only complaint that I have with this one. But at the end of the day, if you’re on a riding cart then you can just take along a separate cooler and you’re all set. Other than that, there is honestly nothing else that I have found to complain about with this one.
Some of the more high end options come with a rain hood or cover, which is good for protecting your gear from a rain shower. Even if your preferred bag doesn’t come with one, you can usually buy one separate to fit your bag.
And when you do need to put it down to take a shot, the carbon fiber legs provide the durability and strength to hold your bag securely in place. Other features include a four-way top with two full-length dividers to keep your clubs from continually jumbling together, four zippered pockets, including a velour-lined one for valuables and a full-size drink pocket, and a rain hood. This bag is brand new and only one color is available (black/red/white). The navy bag and red bag have yet to be released, but will be soon.
With Titleist being one of the most well-known brand names for all kinds of high-end golf equipment, you know you’ll be receiving one of the best bags available anywhere with the Titleist Mid-Size Staff Golf Bag.
The Supercharged golf bags come equipped with a 7800 mAh rechargeable, portable power pack capable of recharging a mobile phone three times. This power pack has two USB ports, one standard and one rapid-charging, allowing recharging of multiple devices at the same time.
Check out the straps to determine if you like the fit or not. Some come in a backpack-style while others come with a single messenger-bag style strap. Pay attention to the padding in the straps to see if it is adequate. If you might be placing the bag on the wet ground, look for one that has a water resistant feature. Do you want a divider system? Because not all carry bags have this feature.
I love that this bag has two pockets for valuables and that one of them is large enough to hold a range finder. And the handles make it really easy to move the bag from the car’s trunk over to the cart. And unlike some models, the pockets are always accessible on it when it is on the cart, which is really nice.
When you’re finished riding a bicycle, you know the best way to extend its lifespan is to use the kickstand. Keeping the bike off the ground ensures it stays drier and cleaner. The same principle applies to your golf bag. If you’re carrying the bag, laying it on the ground, where it’s constantly exposed to moisture and dirt, could shorten its usable lifespan.
For this type, pay attention to the handle on the bag to ensure that it is something that will be comfortable to use and that will withstand plenty of years on the course. Look to see if there are enough pockets and storage spaces for all of your gear. And where are all those storage spaces and pockets located, because you need to be able to easily reach them when the bag is on the cart. Also check to see what the putter access is like.
Ideally, you’ll want a bag to have at least four central compartments, which you can use to distribute up to 14 clubs (according to regulation rules). If possible, you’ll want that bag to have a lid or built-in rainfly for keeping your clubs dry in the event of a downpour. In addition, you’ll want that bag to have several pockets that you can use to store balls, tees, towels, water bottles, and food.
Golf’s first “Open Championship” took place in Ayrshire, Scotland during 1860. This tournament proved to be such a success that golf subsequently made its way across the Atlantic. The first U.S. country clubs began opening in New York toward the end of the 19th Century. These “clubs” were usually 18-hole golf courses that were attached to a lavish meeting hall for society’s elite.
If you’re looking for the best of both worlds, then a good hybrid golf bag makes sense for you. With this TaylorMade model, you get the convenience of a stand bag with the features of a carry and cart bag – all at a good low price.
Sun Mountain pioneered the waterproof golf bag and the H2No Lite was awarded Best Waterproof Golf Bag for 2018. Constructed with the same waterproof technology as Sun Mountain rainwear, the H2NO Lite has high-quality YKK, waterproof zippers and sealed seams, plus the fabric is coated on both sides with a waterproof coating. The H2NO Lite is a mid-sized stand bag that provides complete waterproof protection and is perfect for the golfer who doesn’t let a little bit of rain spoil a round of golf.
The Sun Mountain C-130 Cart Bag is a very luxurious cart bag that is only for the most serious of cart golfers. This bag was designed with cart play in mind because all pockets were designed to be forward facing and to be accessible when the bag was mounted to a golf cart. This bag has a specifically designed “cart strap pass-through” that allows the bag to be secured at all times while still not blocking access to any of the important pockets.
The best golf bags will keep your clubs organized and protected, ensuring the 6-iron is in perfect shape and can be grabbed quickly before you change your mind about trying to hook a shot around a tree, go directly over the sand trap, and stick the shot a few feet from the pin, just like your favorite pro did last Sunday.
Light, versatile, functional and reasonably priced — all you need in a golf bag. Datrek Golf’s 2018 Trekker Ultra Lite Stand Bag is highlighted by it’s ultra light construction. Weighing just 3 pounds, it’s made of durable nylon and can withstand rigors of walking round after round. If you’re not playing golf professionally, you’ll probably pass on the staff bag simply because you won’t need the extra space. We’ve got you covered if you do happen to fall in this camp. Everyone else should be looking at a decision between a Traditional Cart Bag and Carry Bag.

Though I really like this one, there are still some room for improvements here. While it does have a beverage pocket, a small cooler pocket would be preferable to me. I’d also prefer a bag with individual spots for the clubs instead of the 5-way opening and two full length dividers.
If there’s going to be a list about easy-to-carry walking bags, then the Callaway 2017 Hyper Lite Zero Stand Bag has to be near the top. Perhaps the lightest stand bag on the market at just 2.4 pounds, you get many of the useful features Callaway includes on most of its bags. The comfort-tech strap system (single or double strap available) and soft mesh hip pad make walking the course a breeze.
Cart Bags are smaller and lighter than Staff Bags. They are easier for a person to carry and are priced better. Even though they’re lighter most golfers won’t want to carry a cart bag around (unless you plan to have a caddy), as they weigh somewhere around 6 to 7 pounds without clubs. These bags are intended for pushcarts or to be mounted on the back of a golf cart. For that reason, they have special mounting wraps, and often have hardened, rubberized, non-slip bottoms so that they can stay securely in place once strapped in.
But don’t forget about the golf bag. Whether you’re someone who walks the entire course carrying a bag or takes the riding cart everywhere with the bag attached to the back (while telling your friends later that you walked all 18 holes), the golf bag plays a key role in your enjoyment of the game.
