Different golfers have different needs from their golf bags. Walkers need lightweight bags that can be easily put on their back for the entire round without zapping too much energy. Electric and gas cart users need extra storage and pockets that can be accessed when the bag is strapped in. Golfers who are dedicated to practice or speed golf will be interested in the minimal Sunday bag. There are also many models that combine all of these features for maximum functionality. Learn more about different types of golf bags and select the combination of form and features that best suits your game.
TITLEIST PREMIUM CARRY BAG. This lightweight carry bag is perfect for a quick round of pitch-and-putt or fast trip to the range. Three zippered pockets and a beverage sleeve make sure you have enough …
To protect your woods, take the heads off (if possible), put inside headcovers, then put in side pocket of your golf bag. No stiff arm needed and the shafts can take more of a beating from bags stacked on top without breaking
The Ogio is the cheapest of our three options, coming in under $150. As far as travel bags go, you don’t want to go much cheaper than this. Your clubs are worth a decent amount of money, so you want to protect them as much as you can for what fits your budget. The Straight Jacket weighs 7.6 lbs – three pounds less than the Club Glove option – and thanks to its construction, it won’t be quite as durable. But since it’s a bit lighter, you can pack some extra shoes in. The bag has the same protective features – reinforced base, padded top, secure zippers – as the other bags, but it’s definitely less structured.
Hard bags tend to be gray or black on the outside while the soft ones come in many different colors. Besides a durable outer shell, the handles are padded or reinforced. Some bags feature external pockets, and some feature luggage or in-line skate wheels. The top of them are padded on the inside.
Travel bags are meant to protect your gear, including your regular bag, while traveling. They’re not meant to be used as a replacement for the one that you use when you play golf. Some of them are designed to be hard-case luggage, while others are malleable bags that are made from durable material. If you use a travel one only 15 or so times a year, you will have saved yourself hundreds of dollars in club repairs because of how well they work.
No matter what travel bag, I always use the Stiff Arm by Clubglove, the telescoping club protector put in your bag next to your driver. I’ve had two stiff arms ruined by the impact of baggage handling, but my driver survived.

Nice preowned condition with some typical signs of use. This bag has some in embroidery as shown in the photo. This can be removed as there are several techniques in videos you can watch on how to do it. I have done it on things before and it is easy but can be time-consuming but it’s a good project while you’re sitting in front of the television having a adult beverage. It comes with the stiff arm as shown in photos. No shoulder strap is included. What you see is exactly what you will receive. Please check my feedback and buy with confidence.
This bag is jet black but photos as gray. It is not gray and it is not Titleist’s Titanium color. It is black. It features a fully padded back support panel, an adjustable sternum strap equalizes the load and a zippered pocket with inside organizer.
Bought this new and used for one trip. Heavy duty black material is very resilient and shows no signs of wear. This thing rolls nicely and provides tons of extra room for whatever you may want to bring. Internal straps hold everything tight and external clips and adjustable straps help to really hold everything tight. The guy I took the trip with had a cheaper bag and he had his handle ripped off while this one has no damage. Bid with confidence
Surprising to me that the Club Glove Last Bag is so widely used on Tour, esp. considering Tour Pros spend so much time navigating airports. You’d think they’d want one that’s less cumbersome to maneuver (like the Sun Mountain). I get the durability aspect being a big deal (they use their bags WAY more than amateurs), but the Sun Mountain received a good durability score and it’s not like Tour Pros can’t afford to replace a bag.
Cart bags are meant to be attached to the back gas or electric golf carts. They are usually heavier and have minimal or uncomfortable straps as they are not intended for extended carrying. They feature increased storage space for extra accessories, drinks, clothes, etc, while most feature all forward facing pockets that can all be accessed while strapped in. Many, but not all cart bags can be utilized with a push or pull cart.
Storage (5 points) – When you put your travel bag in a corner of your garage, how much space does it take up? Some bags simply fold up, while others are designed specifically with space-savings in mind.
Protection (45 points) – Your golf clubs are a significant investment. A travel bag then must protect your clubs in every situation. We closely examined the top portion of the travel bag because it is where clubs are the most vulnerable. Manufacturers use a variety of different methods to protect the clubs, but one constant is that poor performers lack coverage on the top and sides of the bag. The bags that provided effective protection do so by combining protective padding with a snug fit.
Bought this bag for airplane transport. Thought I would have to buy smaller golf bag but my clubs fit great in my original bag. Some padding on the bag makes me feel more confident my clubs will arrive in one piece. For the money its a great find.
Hybrid bags are best thought of as cart bags with the ability to stand. Most are larger than your typical stand bag and are usually used on carts, but can also be used for walking when needed. More and more manufacturers have begun creating hybrid bags, innovating to reduce weight and increase versatility while not sacrificing function.
Lightweight and portable, stand bags are designed for golfers who walk the course and they provide the most versatility. While made for walking, with back-back straps to help shoulder the load, these can always be strapped to a pull or push cart if necessary. Two retractable, built-in legs allow for these bags to stand upright while you set up and hit your shot.
One key to our testing protocols is that we test products head-to-head. We select the top products from each category and put them through extensive and detailed head-to-head testing. We test both in the lab and in the field. We score each product across a range of weighted categories. We then rank the products, explain why products finished where they did, and give awards to the best-performing products in the category.
I’ve been using the A99 hands down the best travel bag. It had a full length 9 in diameter PVC tube as the inner liner. The exterior looks like s normal golf bag. Two full length side pockets fit shoes raingear. Bottom has room for balls etc. Two wheels on bottom and s handle on the top make pulling in easy. It stands up on flat bottom. When you arrive at resort you remove the protective tube shaped head cover and it’s a gold bag you can carry by strap it place on a cart. These easily fit a trunk and weigh the sane as most carry bags. Priced under $200 can

I am on my third Club Glove… wouldn’t even consider another brand. Never had a club damaged (always use the Stiff Arm). I average 25 plane trips a year with the sticks. These covers last years, outlasting golf clubs and bags. I have tried the SKB hard cases, but they really don’t offer much more protection, they break and are a pain to fit into a rental car frequently. Then it takes up a big patch of real estate in your hotel room…

I used a CG Burstproof for over 15 yrs. I agree they’re great. However, the Burstproof isn’t as big as I’d like. Zipper blew out on my CG, and I switched to a CaddyDaddy b/c a friend has one. IMO, every bit as good as CG, 1/3 the price. Very surprised it scored so low in this testing.

Do you find yourself staring out the window of the airplane watching the baggage handlers to make sure your valuable golf clubs aren’t being tossed around like a rag doll?. Well, you can rest easy with the CargoGolf Golf Guard travel case.
Averaging 4 long haul flights a month for over 6 years I can vouch for the durability of Club Glove. I use the Last Bag Collegiate which fits my cart bag (Ping Traverse). The key to any travel bag though is using a “stiff arm” – without it no bag will stop your graphite shafts getting broken.

I have had the Club Glove Last Bag for 20 years and it has worked flawlessly. I’m lifetime gold medallion on Delta, and traveled with my sticks whenever I could. The bag is showing wear from baggage handling, but it just might be my last bag!
Researching golf club travel bags can be difficult. Some are very expensive, others are cheap. Some are hard case, others are soft-sided. Trying to figure out what is best for your budget and needs can be tricky, but we’ve done the hard work for you. After surveying our staff, testing out a couple of options ourselves and wading through various reviews, we’ve got our official recommendations for what golf club travel bag is right for you. Let’s cut to the chase – there aren’t that many stellar options. The three we have picked aren’t the cheapest selections either, but they will safely get your clubs from point A to point B and will take the assured beating they will receive from the airport baggage handlers. Our top two picks are also bigger bags. When going on golf trips, you will need that extra room in the bag for a dozen golf balls, a second pair of golf shoes, a rain suit, etc. Use that space as an overflow from your main suitcase.
